Plot Summary

In the Shadow of Powers is set in the aftermath of the Dissolution of the Monasteries, a period of religious and political upheaval in England. Shardlake is a lawyer who is sent to investigate the murder of Richard Rich, a wealthy landowner and supporter of the king.
